Sicily

We had a lovely holiday in Sicily at Easter. We're not planning on our usual trip to Cergallina this year because of our expected arrival, so Sicily was in place of that. We stayed in an Agritourismo on an olive farm. Olives are Affy's favourite vegetable (fruit?) so we thought it would be perfect for her. We didn't realise that all the olives from the farm were made into olive oil, but never mind, it was still interesting.

The downside of going at Easter rather than in the summer was that the pool was COLD! That didn't stop Affy though, who is a fearless swimmer and not too bothered by the cold either. We didn't spend as long lounging around the pool as we might have done though, but still found some really interesting sites to visit. Agrigento had amazing Greek temples and Piazza Armerina had really well preserved Roman Mosaics.

Affy is really ready for school now. She loves looking at books (and will do so for hours at night time when she should be asleep!) and I'm sure she'll learn to read really quickly once she starts school. She loves being active, gymnastics, swimming, dance are all a big hit with her, and she is a wicked climber of trees given the chance. She still enjoys playing games, but her other favourite pastime of course is DVDs. She definitely likes to be entertained though, by whoever will oblige!

Obviously the next big thing on the horizon is becoming a big sister. Affy is very attentive towards the bump. She likes to talk to it, kiss it and read it stories. I'm sure she's going to be great once the baby arrives!
